It might be just a quirk of timing but I was a bit surprised to see the value of building permits issued in Moncton actually rose in April compared to last year. Across the country, permit values have dropped substantially. It was all non-residential and heavily multi-unit non-residential which is really good and, again, may be more about timing than anything else.
But an encouraging sliver of good data in a river of bad data.
