Lockheed Martin is expanding in Nova Scotia. Lockheed Martin Canada plans to create up to 100 new jobs within the next five years. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., is supporting the company’s growth with a payroll rebate to a maximum of $1,829,420. This is about $18,000 per job and this tells me that these must be good paying jobs. If NSBI is looking at a three year payback on this investment through income taxes paid by the 100, the average salary needs to be in the $50,000 to $60,000 year/range. You can calculate this here. Punch in the salary, cut it in half (roughly the NS portion) and assume there will be some basic deductions of the remaining amount.
Good stuff.
