I just heard on CBC about the crime rate and how it is dropping in New Brunswick. The RCMP officer credited the fine work of his officers in the province. The interviewer stated that crime rates are down across Canada.
It seems to me that this is likely correlated to the latest Census data. We are among the oldest populations in Canada and old people are less likely to commit crime.
Earlier today, I read somewhere that there has been a 20% decline in the youth population in Northern New Brunswick. Less youth, less crime.
