Listen carefully. If you dismiss every other thing I have said recently, don’t dismiss this. The latest Statistics Canada’s labour force survey is out and it estimates that the labour force in New Brunswick shrunk by 9,400 people from Feb. 2006 to Feb. 2007.

NO OTHER province in Canada registered a decline in the size of the labour force over the 12 month period. None. Every other province is estimated to have a growing labour force – expect New Brunswick.

It used to be we could wallow around with other provinces complaining about labour market problems. Now we stand alone.
