Quebec to use McKenna model

Quebec’s Economic Development Minister Claude Bechard outlined a plan last week to make Quebec more competitive and attractive to investors. “The standard of living must rise faster than the Canadian average over the next five years,” Bechard said at a new conference.

Bechard promised the province would be more aggressive in pursuing potential investors, adding that he was inspired by former New Brunswick premier Frank McKenna, now Canada’s ambassador to the U.S., known for taking an active role convincing potential investors in his province.

Too bad our own current NB Premier was not ‘inspired’ by the former NB Premier.

At least Quebec has made the link between attracting investors and Quebec’s standard of living. I doubt our guys have.
