Another sign of prosperity?

I just came across a very interesting statistic. Did you know that only Newfoundlanders generate more ‘investment’ income than New Brunswickers? Investment income is the amount you earn on your investments such as RRSPs. In 2003, New Brunswickers generated an average of $481 per person in investment income compared to $1,300 per person in Alberta. I think that the issue here is self-evident.

In a prosperous economy, people have more money to invest and this money generates investment income. We need to stop all the posturing about prosperity and the media needs to start educating New Brunswickers about the truth of this economy.

Even the lowly Nova Scotians generate 58% more investment income per capita than New Brunswickers. Don’t we have any pride?
