Having the conversation a little more broadly

I see there are 80 comments on my column in the G&M Economy Lab this morning.  All the more reason to get comments back and running on this blog – which will be in place soon.  I tried to install Facebook commenting myself but to no avail.

Anyway, as long as the G&M editor will acquiesce I intend on taking many of the themes you have read here and bringing the narrative to a national audience.  There are many complex economic, demographic and even cultural realities facing this region that are coming on us in a big way and the implications will be felt across Canada.   From the demographic tsunami to the urban/rural divide to the development of onshore oil and gas in a region where there is no history or acceptance of it to the issues relating to immigration – these are issues that matter.

Let the conversation begin.
